Liam Gallagher has revealed that he set off a fire extinguisher in Paul Gascoigne's face when the former footballer joked about Oasis song 'Roll With It'.

Speaking to NME ahead of the release of the band's new album Dig Out Your Soul, Gallagher recalled how the incident got him banned from London's Groucho Club.

"There was that night Gazza was [at the Groucho Club], getting smart at the bar, using that old joke again: 'D'you want a 'Roll With It'? D'you want a roll with your bowl of soup?' It was like, 'F***ing grow up, you d***'.

"So I squirted him with a fire extinguisher. I got banned. It was a joyous day and I won't be back. I don't move in them circles anymore."

Gallagher confessed that he and wife Nicole Appleton choose to shy away from the spotlight, while his brother Noel "hangs around with all these strange people with long hair - Russell Brand sorts".

He added: "I think Noel and his missus enjoy the high life, while me and my missus don't these days. I guess he's getting old, so he's got to get it out of his system."
