'SATC' author plans Carrie prequel

The author behind Sex And The City has announced that she is to write two novels about Carrie Bradshaw's teenage years.

Candace Bushnell revealed that she will introduce readers to the character's formative years when The Carrie Diaries is published in 2010.

"'Carrie in high school did not follow the crowd - she led it. It was there that she began observing and commenting on the social scene," she said.

HBO announced in July that a second Sex And The City movie is in the works.
