Andrew Sachs has divulged that his upcoming autobiography will not devote much space to the Manuelgate scandal.

The 78-year-old Fawlty Towers star was the victim of lewd prank calls from BBC presenters Jonathan Ross and Russell Brand in October, resulting in Ross being suspended for three months and Brand leaving the broadcaster.

Sachs revealed to The Daily Telegraph that he had started penning his memoirs before the controversy, which he described as a "minor glitch" in his life.

"It has taken a back seat recently with all this Ross business as you can imagine but I have begun in earnest again," he commented.

"The Ross episode is a minor glitch within my life story and I shan't be devoting much time to it."
