Brand plans to emulate Fry lift Twitter

Russell Brand has joked that he is planning to "emulate" Stephen Fry by getting stuck in a lift.

Fry used the internet blogging site Twitter to entertain himself while trapped on the 26th floor of London's Centre Point tower on Tuesday.

Writing about his current stand-up tour on Twitter, Brand said that he may try to get stuck in an elevator after his performance in Blackpool tonight.

"In Manchester, delirious from showing off, tonight I'll be in Blackpool where I plan to get trapped in an elevator to emulate dear Stephen [Fry]," he wrote.

When a Twitter follower suggested that the comic tried to get himself lodged in the Blackpool Tower lift, Brand said that it may "look like a desperate attempt to upstage the incomparable Fry", claiming that he would "simply sob in a shaft" instead.
