Jennifer Garner has spoken out about her recent injuries, after sparking speculation about their origins at the Los Angeles premiere of her latest film.
The actress, 37, was photographed sporting cuts and brusies on her wrist and elbow while walking the red carpet for Ghosts Of Girlfriends Past on Monday night.
Appearing on The Late Show With David Letterman, the star admitted that she had taken a "header" while running with three-year-old daughter Violet, saying: "I just biffed.
"I wasn’t even making an action movie or anything. If you do it when you’re making an action movie, you feel cool. When you do it when you’re just running on a beautiful day in front of a lot of people, you don’t feel so cool.
"And you think you’re anonymous and suddenly everyone’s like 'Jen Garner just fell down! Jennifer, do you need help?'"
Host Letterman attempted to soothe his guest's injuries by applying ointment to another cut on her knee, saying: "Leave that on. It will come off in the shower, then put more on."
Garner, who is married to Ben Affleck, gave birth to her second daughter Seraphina in January.
