Olivier Martinez has proposed to Kylie Minogue, according to a report in The People today.

Martinez, Kylie's lover, realised that he wants to spend the rest of his life with the Australian singer, after she was diagnosed with breast cancer.

"Kylie's illness has made Olivier realise there is more to life than a glitzy showbusiness career," Olivier's cousin, Stephane Martinez, explained. "He has told his parents that Kylie is the one. Olivier is at an age where he wants to settle down and start a family and I know Kylie feels the same way too.

"When you are faced with something like what has just happened to Kylie anything else, including acting, becomes unimportant. Olivier is in a position where he can now be with Kylie all of the time now."

A source added, "It's wonderful news they are to marry. Kylie hit rock bottom when she learned she had cancer but now she and Olivier have so much to look forward to."
