Dannii Minogue has spoken about how she is in "awe" of her sister Kylie, who is currently battling breast cancer.

The singer's comments came after she read out a message of support to cancer sufferers, written by Kylie, at a Cancer Research UK charity event on Friday night.

"I don't know how she got to be such a strong person but she's a real fighter," Dannii told the Sunday Mirror. "Inspirational is the only word I can use to describe her. I'm just in awe of her."

"I guess at the moment I'm the main contact point because Kylie needs her time and privacy now to focus on what she's doing," she explained. "She's such a generous person and she's never asked for that before."

Dannii added, "We wrote the message together. We had a lot of emotional phone calls - with me calling Paris and Kylie calling me in London. But we're really pleased with how it turned out. It was a huge moment for our family."
