Charlotte Church sang a duet with Johnny Vegas in an impromptu performance for the singer's gran's birthday.

The two stars paired up at the Robin Hood pub in Cardiff – part-owned by Church's family – at a Sunday night party.

Manager Brian Ball said the comedian, in town for the FA Cup final, was invited by Ideal co-star Nicola Reynolds, who lives nearby.

When the night's booked entertainer got the pair to perform drinkers from across the city headed for the pub.

"Obviously once Charlotte and Johnny turned up people were on their mobile phones and before you knew it, there was at least an extra 40 people in the pub," said Ball. "It was an absolutely fantastic night and Johnny got on extremely well with Charlotte and her family.

"He signed autographs and was more than happy to mix it up with the regulars and they all warmed to him. He sang 'These Boots Were Made For Walking' and had everybody in stitches.

"Charlotte also did a few numbers - she did 'Crazy Chick'."
