Court rejects Gary Glitter's appeal

The former pop star shouted "It's not a fair trial" as he left the People's Supreme Court in Ho Chi Minh City.
As the judge read his verdict Glitter shook his head. "We did not see enough evidence to reduce the penalty for the defendant," Truong Vinh Thuy told the court. "The decision was made based on evidence, documents and testimony of the victims.
"The behaviour of the defendant is dangerous for society, especially towards children. He needs to be punished."
Glitter was convicted of molesting two girls, aged 11 and 12, in March. He maintains his innocence and claims that British media are responsible for getting him convicted.
