Alicia Keys offers four scholarships

Alicia Keys has offered $5,000 (£2,532) scholarships to four students heading for higher education in the US.

One student, each from Jacksonville, New Orleans, Atlanta and New York neighbourhood, Harlem, will be eligible for the grants.

Keys is providing the opportunity through the Frum Tha Ground Up charity, which was set up by her road manager, DJ Walton.

The organisation is dedicated to providing opportunities and mentoring the youth of America.

According to the BBC, students selected for Keys' funding will have to represent Frum Tha Ground Up at school functions and perform community service each term.
