Angelina Jolie has been named the world's biggest sex symbol in an internet poll.

The actress was followed by Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe and Lara Croft - the computer characted Jolie played on screen.

At fifth was Brad Pitt - Jolie's partner and the father of one of her children. The poll was carried out for the Channel 4 show The 100 Greatest Sex Symbols which aired on Saturday.

Jenny Shimziu, the actress's former girlfriend, commented: “I don’t think there’s one person that would say no to Angelina, in bed or just having a cup of coffee with her.”

The top 10 sex symbols were: Angelina Jolie, Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe, Beyonce Knowles, Brad Pitt, Lara Croft, George Clooney, Kylie Minogue, Johnny Depp, Scarlett Johansson.
