Foxy Brown claims she was a victim of police brutality after her arrest last week on battery charges.

The 27-year-old was arrested in a Florida beauty store for simple battery and resisting an officer, but claimed in a Brooklyn press conference that "the only crime I'm guilty of is being a young black woman".

Brown told reporters she denied claims she had spat at the store owner and resisted the policeman, and said she was forced out of the store's bathroom half-naked.

Brown, who was sentenced to three years probation for assault in 2004, could be sent to jail for violating probation if she is found guilty of the charges.
