Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly are making a pilot for US network ABC.

Production company Gurin Co has signed a deal with the Geordie duo, for a game show called Wanna Bet?

A spokesman said that the pair will not be moving to the US permanently and will fit the show around their UK commitments.

Wanna Bet? is a remake of a German ZDF network format, called Wetten, dass…?, which mixes celerity interviews and music performances with members of the public placing bets on whether they can pull off extraordinary stunts.

US TV executives have apparently been interested in signing the pair for some time, but attempts to get them to host a US television show have failed so far.

ABC axed plans to launch Ant and Dec's ITV show Poke Face in the States, after it won the rights ahead of rivals NBC and Fox, but abandoned the idea citing "differences in creative vision for the show's format".
