Rapper Busta Rhymes has been charged with drink driving in New York City.

The 34-year-old, whose real name is Trevor Smith, was pulled over by police while driving a sports utility vehicle with tinted windows.

He was then taken into custody after officers smelled alcohol on his breath.

Rhymes' lawyer Scott Leemon declined to comment, but vowed to address the charges in court.

The rapper has had several brushes with the law recently. He is scheduled to stand trial for two separate assault charges next week.
