KT Tunstall has insisted that she isn't prepared to preach about the importance of being concerned over the environment.

The Suddenly I See singer, who performs at the New York Live Earth gig today, explained that leading by example is a far better method of raising awareness of climate change.

"There's a great Gandhi quote that goes, 'Be the change you want to see in the world.' It can be very irritating when wealthy famous people preach about who you should give your hard earned cash to and how you should live your life," KT told the Daily Record. "So I'm committed to changing the way I live and work."

Tunstall added that she wants to "contribute to a shift in attitude to ensure the planet can breathe again, species won't be lost forever and our kids and grandkids will have access to the natural beauty we've all enjoyed."
