Britney wants to be a footballer's wife

Britney Spears has told friends that she wants to bag a footballer, after being inspired by the arrival of the Beckhams in LA.

The Toxic singer was thrilled when she learned that Chelsea footballers were in Santa Monica for a signing at an Adidas store. She sent one of her assistants to see if any of the players were willing to star in her new music video, but pals have claimed that she also had romance on her mind.

A source told the Daily Star: "Britney is really impressed by Victoria's lifestyle, as many Los Angelites are. They see this strong woman with a handsome and famous husband, not to mention three lovely children - she does seem to have it all.

"Britney's fascinated and obviously after her bad experiences with men, she's taking notes about how to achieve this. Step one seems to be to bag a soccer star. She's always dreamt of dating a sportsman. But Victoria is a real blueprint she thinks she could follow, so when she heard Chelsea were around she decided to send a 'scout' to check them out."
