Kate Hudson broke down on the set of her new movie when she found out that her ex-boyfriend, Owen Wilson, had been hospitalised after he allegedly tried to commit suicide.

The actress was filming comedy, Bachelor No.2, in Boston when she had to be escorted away following news of Wilson.

The pair dated for six months after starring in film You, Me and Dupree, but the pair split up in May.

A witness told London Lite: "She looked upset. She was on the phone, pacing back and forth. Then her handlers came out and she was ushered into a white SUV".

It is rumoured that Wilson's alleged suicide attempt was as a result of pictures that showed Hudson kissing her new boyfriend, actor Dax Shepherd, emerged at the weekend.

Reports claim the actor had slashed his wrists and had taken an overdose of pills.

A statement was released from him today, saying: "I respectfully ask that the media allow me to receive care and heal in private during this difficult time.”
