Gervais to give away Edinburgh profits

Ricky Gervais is to donate the proceeds from his controversial sell-out Edinburgh show to a cancer charity.

The Extras star was criticised earlier this month for selling tickets at £37.50 for his one-off gig at Edinburgh Castle for 8,000 fans.

According to The Sun, Scottish charity MacMillan Cancer Relief has been informed of the donation, but the exact amount is yet to be confirmed.
