The Scottish singer started out as a busker before her debut album Eye To The Telescope became a big hit in 2005.
Yesterday, the 32-year-old returned to her roots by performing on the steps of the Buchanan Galleries shopping centre in Glasgow. KT's street gig raised £270.69, which she plans to donate to the Nordoff-Robbins music therapy charity.
"Music is a really special way of helping disabled children," Tunstall told the Daily Record. "I have a deaf brother who loves playing drums because he can really feel it and gets a lot out of it."
She added: "It was just a really last-minute idea. Obviously, I had heard of Nordoff-Robbins and they asked if I would be interested in raising a little money for them while I was in town. It's so different to when I first busked. In between every single song, I felt like I had to say the money wasn't for me as I genuinely needed the cash before."
KT's new album Drastic Fantastic will be released next week.
