King, who has also previously worked with Prince, was reportedly the girl-power group's first pick to direct their tour.
The girls' manager Simon Fuller told The Sun: "Jamie King was our first choice. He is one the world's very best live show directors/producers and choreographers, having worked with all of the greats, including Madonna and Prince."
Talking about what King may produce, Fuller commented: "Everyone has the same vision for this show, it will be a roller coaster of fun reflecting all the things that made the Spice Girls such a huge global pop group."
