The Phone Booth actor took the tramp, known as 'Stress on the streets', into the Europe Bound Travel Outfitter's and reportedly told staff: "Get him anything he wants. Whatever he needs.”
Stress picked up top of the range items including a new sleeping bag, underwear, boots and a new rucksack.
Shop manager Dave Mott, said: "He was a cool guy. He didn’t act like a movie star. It was like they were best buddies. The homeless guy was going around grabbing stuff. Everything was top line.”
Stress told witnesses: "I’m all set up. This is my chance to get off the street.”
It is the second time Farrell has helped the homeless man, after he put him into a limousine and took him to collect a $2,000 prize that was offered to anyone who could bring the actor into the studio of the local radio station in 2003.
