Palmer-Tomkinson ate £10,000 diamond

Tara Palmer-Tompkinson has revealed that she once ate a £10,000 diamond.

The Celebrity Fame Academy contestant explained that she was given the rock as a surprise present in a chocolate dessert by a male admirer and she swallowed it by accident.

Palmer-Tompkinson told This Morning: "I swallowed a £10,000 diamond. I never found it either but I wasn’t going to look.”

Telling the story, she said: "A man took me out to dinner in Paris and he put the diamond in the chocolate pudding.

"But he had too much to drink, he forgot to tell me it was there, I ate the whole pudding. So it wasn’t really my fault."

Explaining why she didn't search for the lost jewel, she commented: “Well it wasn’t a solitaire.”
