Lindsay Lohan has denied that she played a part in the marriage breakdown and divorce of a man that she was rumoured to have had an affair with while in rehab.

The Mean Girls actress was cited in the divorce papers of Tony Allen by his estranged wife Stephanie, who blamed his "conduct and relationship with another woman" for causing them to split.

Lohan was linked to Allen when they were both staying at the Cirque Lodge rehab centre in Utah, and it had been claimed that they had sex in the facility's toilets.

But a spokesperson for Lohan said: "It’s unfortunate Stephanie Allen is blaming the demise of her marriage on Lindsay. Stephanie needs to look at her marriage to determine the reason why things went wrong, because it has nothing to do with Lindsay.

"Lindsay and Tony are friends and that’s all. They are supporting one another through a similar experience. This is a friendship based on trust and mutual support and nothing else."
