Pete Doherty has been handed a suspended prison sentence for several drug and motoring-related offences.

The Babyshambles frontman appeared at West London Magistrates' Court today and was sentenced to four months in jail, suspended for two years.

Doherty was also handed a 12-month drug rehabilitation order, as well as an 18-month supervision order as part of the sentence given to him by district judge Davinder Lachar.

The 28-year-old has also been ordered to pay a fine of £475 for driving a car without insurance or a valid MOT.

He is now hoping he can return to do a tour with his bandmates.
