Amy Winehouse's husband has been remanded in custody after being charged with perverting the course of justice.

Blake Fielder-Civil was arrested on Thursday night. He is facing claims that he attempted to fix a trial by trying to pay off barman James King, who claims that Fielder-Civil caused grievous bodily harm in an attack on him earlier this year.

The 25-year-old appeared at Thames Magistrates Court and was told that he will be remanded in custody until November 23.

Anthony Kelly, 25, from Chalk Farm, north London, was also charged with perverting the course of justice.

Winehouse, who is believed to be "distraught" by recent events, watched from the public gallery as Blake was told about his fate.
