Jane Seymour has won a court case against her neighbours who tried to stop her from allowing her house to be used for late night parties.

The actress was granted a 24-hour alcohol and entertainment licence at her property in Bath, causing the local villagers to get upset and form an action group to take the case to court.

Seymour's neighbours claimed that the parties had caused an increase in traffic, causing a nuisance and that the Grade I-listed house was unsuitable to have noisy events.

They hoped that Bath Magistrates Court would amend the licence, but the court ruled that Seymour had done nothing wrong.

Chairman of the bench Richard Curry said: "We felt there was little if any evidence of public nuisance, though noise at the premises was put forward."

He also claimed that it would be "impractical and unjustifiable" to impose curfews and limits on the size of the parties that stayed at the venue.
