Kelly Brook's father dies

Kelly Brook's future as a competitor on Strictly Come Dancing has been put in jeopardy after the star's father died on Monday night following a long battle with cancer.

The actress's dad Ken Parsons passed away at Brook's family home in Rochester, Kent just days after celebrating his daughter's birthday.

Brook's family is said to be distraught over the news and the model is considering whether to continue competing on the TV dance contest.

A source told The Sun: "Kelly, her mum Sandra and the rest of the family are devastated. Kenneth was very ill for a long time. At the moment Kelly is considering whether to perform on Saturday night's show."

Brook's spokesman last night said: "Kelly Brook’s dad, Kenneth, passed away peacefully at home on Monday evening following a long battle with cancer, aged 57.

"Kelly would like to take this opportunity to thank the media for respecting her family’s privacy over this personal matter during recent weeks and asks that they continue to do at this difficult time.

“Kelly will continue to honour her work commitments to the best of her abilities as her father would have wanted."
