Mum: 'I don't know where Winehouse is'

Amy Winehouse's mother has revealed that she does not know where her daughter has been since she announced the cancellation of her tour.

The singer pulled the plug on her scheduled gigs earlier this week after a doctor advised her to scrap the remaining eight dates in the UK due to health issues.

But it appears Winehouse, whose husband is currently in jail, has gone into hiding since the announcement was made.

Her mother Janis claimed she was not aware of her whereabouts, saying: "I'll probably find out later. For the moment it's best that she is left in peace. Amy knows I'm here for her."
