Kate Thornton pregnant with first child

Kate Thornton is four months pregnant with her first child, according to reports.

The 34-year-old has been dating DJ and record producer Darren Emerson since 2004 and the couple became engaged earlier this year.

Thornton was seen having a scan at a hospital in South London last week. An onlooker told The Sun: "Kate was beaming from ear to ear. But funnily enough, when an X Factor trailer came on the TV in the hospital waiting room, she turned her head away.”

A source said: “Kate and Darren are deliriously happy. Kate is due in early summer, so she can fit in a lot of work before then.”

The presenter, who was axed from The X Factor in March, is to front ITV1's Britain Sings Christmas later this month. The show will feature a choir of celebrities performing seasonal classics.

She will also host Sky’s coverage of the Oscars in March.
