Swank in 'Million Dollar Baby'
Gerard Butler has admitted that he almost killed co-star Hilary Swank on the set of their latest movie.
The 300 actor was filming a striptease scene for P.S. I Love You when his braces snapped and hit her in the face.
Butler plays Swank's dying husband in the film, an adaptation of the best-selling novel by Cecilia Ahern. He told Glamour: "Hilary was fantastic, she has no ego and is really down to earth, so accomplished and talented. But I did try to kill her!
"It was with my braces. I cleverly managed to get the clip stuck behind me on this cupboard, the elastic was at full stretch, and I didn't realise. It unclipped itself, smacked her forehead and she went down like she'd been shot."
He added: "Two inches more and it could have taken her eye out, really, the thing was so sharp."
The movie also stars Kathy Bates and former Friends actress Lisa Kudrow.
