Britney banned from 'American Idol'

Britney Spears will not be invited to make a guest appearance on American Idol until she makes changes to her life.

The show's executive producer Nigel Lythgoe explained that Spears needs to "pull herself together" if she wants people to take her pop career seriously.

"I would have had Britney Spears last year when I thought she was trying to get it all back together again," Lythgoe told Usmagazine.com. "Britney, at this moment in time, I don't think is well enough to do anything ... I think she needs to pull herself together."

He added that Britney is an "exceptionally talented girl" who "needs taking care of right now."
