Lorraine Kelly: 'Doherty is sad not bad'

Lorraine Kelly has claimed that she is sick of reading about the antics of Pete Doherty in the tabloid press, describing him as "sad" rather than "bad".

The breakfast TV presenter said Doherty was becoming "like the Beckhams" with his constant media exposure and argued that he needed some good discipline.

She told NME: "I'm not really sure about Pete Doherty. I just don't have time for him. It's like the Beckhams. I've had enough.

"He's trying too hard to be naughty, but he's not bad, he's just sad. He should go on to the naughty step and behave himself. Go on the naughty step!"
