Amy Winehouse's father has promised that the troubled singer has become "stronger and healthier" in the past fortnight.
Cab driver Mitch Winehouse said he feels confident that Amy will make further progress while she takes a break in the Caribbean.
"Amy has got stronger and healthier in the last two weeks and the holiday should help too," Mitch told the Sunday Mirror. "She has refused to be admitted into rehab but, hopefully, the break will mean rehab goes to her.
"She has started treatment and this will continue on holiday. I'd have liked to be with her, but she didn't want her old dad around."
Winehouse flew out to Barbados on Friday. She then took a private plane to Mustique and is now staying at rocker Bryan Adams' luxury villa on the island.
