Just as the dust settles from the Doctor Who Christmas special, rumours about the next series begin. One report suggests one episode will see sidekicks Rose (Billie Piper), Martha (Freema Agyeman) and Donna (Catherine Tate) all united (more).
There have also been a few festive Amy Winehouse updates - inluding confirmation that she has taken up a planned trip to Barbados. She was concerned about leaving behind imprisoned husband Blake Fielder-Civil but it could be worth it, said a source: "She has already made a few new year's resolutions and hopes the trip will become a turning point in her life" (more).
Heather Mills, meanwhile, will reportedly be ending a tough year in style at her Sussex home. According to rumours she has spent £30,000 on tonight's bash and sent out remote controls for her security gates with each invitation (more).
However, with a clear lead on the celebrity pack were Kylie Minogue and Michael Parkinson, who were given an OBE and knighthood, respectively, by the Queen. Kylie was "deeply touched" while Parky felt "very strange" (more).
