Rowland blames phone calls for collapse

Kelly Rowland has blamed her onstage collapse in Africa last summer on jet-lag and the number of late night phone calls that she was making to America.

The Destiny's Child star was performing at the ThisDay Music Festival in Lagos, Nigeria in July when she started to feel unwell and was rushed to hospital.

A representative for the star claimed at the time that the collapse was down to dehydration, but Rowland has cited late nights as the real reason.

She said: "I was exhausted. Not only that, but the time difference threw me off and I was jet-lagged. And I stayed up all night on the phone."
