Watts won't let motherhood affect career

Naomi Watts has insisted that she has no plans to focus on making family films following the birth of her first child.

The actress's latest film Funny Games follows a family who are held hostage by two men in their own home.

Watts, who gave birth to her son Alexander in July last year, has admitted that she would happily accept similar projects in the future.

"Someone asked me whether I'd make Funny Games now as a parent. I think I would," Naomi told WENN. "I'd hope that my child, when he's ready to see it - which won't be for a very, very long time - would understand it and if he didn't we'd do our best to explain it to him.

"But I'm not going to suddenly turn up in popcorn movies just because I've got a kid now."
