
Despite Big Brother's latest incarnation getting started, it was X Factor and Strictly Come Dancing that held onto the biggest headlines.
Singing champ Leon Jackson, suffering from tonsillitis and getting flak for cancelling his shows, still found time to tell papers he was keeping his feet firmly on the ground. Hopefully holding onto Sunday's No 1 spot cheered him up and lifted that ego just a little (more).
The fallout from Strictly has perhaps been more exciting and Vincent Simone, Matt Di Angelo and Flavia Cacace continued to share their love triangle with the world this weekend. Simone said his life was ruined, but Matt was more optimistic: "I'll say, 'Hey Vince, are we cool?'" (more).
And music execs should be sharing his cheeriness this morning after Radiohead apparently proved the compact disc is not yet dead. In Rainbows topped the album chart in its first week on hard-copy release - even though it has been up for download, potentially for free, since October (more).
Updates also continued to roll in following Britney Spears's new low point on Thursday night. She has left hospital but now can't visit her children at all and faces claims she took a cocktail of prescription drugs before the siege (more).
Soaps-wise there is little to mention, though Emmerdale producers vowed they would put up a ratings fight when they go head-to-head with EastEnders on Tuesdays (more).
