The latest from Doctor Who is always keenly received - especially so prize a nugget about David Tennant's love life. Lowly contracts assistant Bethan Britton, spotted in her pyjamas with the actor months ago, has now made their relationship official. "I love being with him," said the blonde BBC staffer (more).

And it was not only happy families in South Wales. The Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles, saw new baby-shaped arrivals for both Nicole Richie (with Good Charlotte's Joel Madden) and Christina Aguilera (thanks to husband Jordan Bratman). Little is known about Aguilera's child, while "ecstatic" Richie proudly revealed Harlow Winter Kate Madden, who weighed in at 6lbs 7oz (more).

As if that wasn't enough good news, EastEnder Aaron Sidwell confessed plans to wed girlfriend Grace and KT Tunstall told how her long-term partner proposed, successfully, on Christmas Day (more).

No such luck for Britney Spears. Her new boyfriend Adnan Ghalib, if reports are to be believed, is a paparazzo only pursuing her for topless pictures. Still, she has at least got a trip to central America out of it while he has just been disowned by his Brummie parents (more).

Back across the pond, music publishing giant EMI provided another gloomy twist to the weekend's entertainment news. Finance chief Guy Hands, on an ongoing mission to get the firm in the black, seems poised to axe 2,000 jobs. Having suffered criticism from Robbie Williams, Radiohead and Coldplay it is sadly unlikely a hesitant complaint from Kylie, in the papers on Sunday, will dissuade him (more).
