Amy Winehouse has shocked onlookers with a violent outburst in the street, reports claim.

According to the Daily Star, the singer was escorted to her car by police just minutes after husband Blake Fielder-Civil threatened to sue for divorce.

He is said to be furious that she has been spending time with ex-boyfriend George Roberts and producer Mark Ronson while he is on remand at Pentonville Prison.

A witness claimed that police were forced to intervene when Winehouse started swearing and threatening reporters, saying: "She suddenly just went off big-time. It was a scary sight.”

Winehouse's father Mitch revealed yesterday that Fielder-Civil had told his daughter that he wanted to end their eight-month marriage during a previous argument.

A source said: “Everyone knows Blake and Amy have a heated relationship, but there’s a massive strain on them both because of the forced separation. Blake is having a terrible time and needs a way out. Sometimes divorce is his answer.”

However, Winehouse's spokesman denied that her outburst had followed the threat, saying: “It came up in the heat of an argument. What Mitch is referring to happened some time ago. Amy’s meeting in prison with Blake yesterday was a perfectly good one.”

He added that Amy's manager had asked police to rescue the star after she was “pounced on” by paparazzi.

Fielder-Civil is scheduled for a parole hearing later today.
