Alley 'would be dead' without Scientology

Kirstie Alley has claimed that she would be dead without her belief in Scientology.

The actress joined founder L Ron Hubbard and other celebrities to promote the faith on its video Orientation: A Scientology Information Film.

A clip from the tape, which has been posted on the Defamer website, shows the actress saying: "Honest to God truth, without Scientology I would be dead. Personally, I recommend it."

Tom Cruise made headlines earlier this month after a four-year-old video of him discussing his beliefs was posted online.
