Builder Jack passed away in hospital in his home town of Bury, Lancashire, on Sunday.
Danson, who plays Leanne Battersby, was to begin filming a new storyline but bosses rescheduled yesterday's scenes after she called them with the news.
The 29-year-old is believed to be taking the rest of the week off to give her time to grieve.
A show insider told The Sun: “We’ve had to move scenes around as Jane was due to be back today.
“She was very close to her dad. Her one-year-old son Harry has Jack as one of his middle names. Jack was only in his fifties so this has all come as a huge shock.”
A spokesman added: "Our thoughts are with Jane and her family at this difficult time."
