Lee Ryan charged with assault

Lee Ryan has been charged in connection with an alleged attack on a taxi driver on New Year's Eve.

The former Blue singer is accused of assaulting the man following a minor traffic accident as he was travelling to a party in Oxted, Surrey.

The driver called his operator when Ryan lost his temper over the incident, prompting the firm to contact the police.

Ryan, 24, was released on bail after his arrest but has now been charged with common assault.

He will appear at Redhill Magistrates' Court on February 29.
