Sienna Miller was devastated that she did not walk away with a BAFTA at last weekend's ceremony, a report claims.
The 26-year-old was nominated for the Orange Rising Star Award, but lost out to Transformers actor Shia LaBeouf.
According to the Daily Express, Miller and boyfriend Rhys Ifans had spent days perfecting a speech in anticipation of her victory.
A source said: "Rhys is naturally very funny and helped Sienna come up with a really amusing acceptance speech.
"Sienna practised, with Rhys' help, for days. Along with a string of gags she was also going to explain how she'd never had any back-up plan for a second career if she had failed as an actress, and she also wanted to give special thanks to her mother and Rhys for all their support."
The actress has now flown to Los Angeles to recover from the loss, with Ifans expected to join her.
The source added: "Rhys knows Sienna is rather down that she didn't win and wants to be there for her over the coming days."
The pair are rumoured to have rowed at the event after she mocked his thinning hair.
