Hilton to guest in 'My Name Is Earl'

Paris Hilton will make a guest appearance in the new series of US comedy My Name Is Earl.

Hilton will appear in a one-hour show that airs on April 3 on NBC.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the American socialite will play herself in a dream sequence from the show's main character Earl.

Executive producer Greg Garcia said: "When we wrote the role of Paris Hilton in the script, we weren't exactly sure who to go with for the role.

"But after an exhausting search we finally settled on a relatively unknown actress by the name of Paris Hilton."

The Simple Life star's acting credits include one-off appearances in Veronica Mars and The OC. She has also starred in the movies House of Wax and The Hottie and the Nottie.
