Richardson dated ex-Brookside actress Jennifer Ellison for six years, but they split after he was accused of cheating on her. She later claimed that he had been violent during their time together.
However, Houghton insisted she isn't bothered by his bad boy reputation, claiming that he is more her type than ex-husband Samuel Preston.
She told The Sun: "Preston's not really my type, but Tony is. I like to take people on face value...He's fit.
"He's not in prison, so it's not like he could have done anything that bad. I don't know what will happen in the future, so I'm not going to waste time thinking about how I feel about it."
