Paramedics rushed to the home of Heather Locklear on Saturday following a report of a suicide attempt.

However, a fire department spokesman said the actress was "fine" when they arrived at the property in Thousand Oaks, California.

Ventura County Fire Department Captain Barry Parker said: “Ms Locklear said she was fine and there appeared to be no problem. Nobody in the house needed medical attention so we left after about 10 minutes.”

He added that the phone call was not made by Locklear herself, but by a "concerned citizen" who feared the former Dynasty actress may try to take her own life.

Locklear's publicist told TMZ that the call was a hoax, saying: "[I] spoke with Heather and she is fine. She never requested medical assistance and did not place a 911 call. Nor did anyone from her house call 911 or place a call requesting medical assistance."
