Bunton caught flouting smoking ban

Emma Bunton was asked to leave a London nightclub after lighting up a cigarette, it has emerged.

The Spice Girl was with friends at Soho's Café de Paris when she was caught breaking the law.

According to The Mirror, a bouncer spotted Bunton and a female friend attempting to hide lit cigarettes under the table.

An onlooker said: "Emma turned bright red and held her face in her hands. She looked mortified and kept saying, 'I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I won't happen again. I promise.'"

The club manager then intervened and she was permitted to stay "but was told if it happened again, she'd be out".

A Café de Paris spokesman said: "Security asked Emma to leave after she was caught smoking a cigarette with a female pal.

"We take smoking in the club very seriously as it is against the law. But Emma was extremely polite and kept apologising so she was allowed to stay."
