The trial of a man accused of stalking actress Uma Thurman has been delayed until next week.

Jackson Jordan is accused of attempting to gain entry to Thurman's trailer while the actress was shooting a film in New York. Jordan, 36, is also alleged to have sent Thurman letters and drawings, including one of the actress digging his grave.

One letter reportedly read: "I feel afraid that if I see you out again with another man, I will want to kill myself."

Jordan has refused an offer to join a mental health programme because he wants to see Thurman in court.

George Vomvolakis, Jordan's lawyer, revealed that his client intends to argue that he was a "romantic pursuing the woman that he loved".

If found guilty Jordan could face a minimum of one year in a mental health institution.
