Robin Williams's wife files for divorce

Robin Williams's wife has filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences, Reuters reports.

Marsha Garces Williams, who met Robin when she was his nanny, has been married to the comedian since 1989. The couple have been separated since December 31 last year. They have two children, 18-year-old daughter Zelda and 16-year-old son Cody, for whom Marsha is requesting joint custody.

Williams began his career in stand-up before moving into acting. He won an Oscar for playing Matt Damon's psychologist in Good Will Hunting. He was also nominated for roles in Good Morning Vietnam, Dead Poets Society and The Fisher King.

Garces Williams has produced several of her husband's films and co-owns their Blue Wolf Productions company.
