Pete Brame: 'Fearne has nothing to fear'

Peter Brame has reassured ex Fearne Cotton that he has not written anything nasty about her on his new album.

It was revealed in February that the former Fame Academy hopeful had written songs about the couple's time together for his debut LP My Secret Suicide.

They began dating after Brame starred in the second series of the BBC talent search in 2003, but Cotton dumped him after growing tired of his party lifestyle.

However, although he admitted that new single 'The Alcoholic's Love Song' is about their break-up, he insisted that she need not worry about how she is portrayed.

He is quoted as saying: "They're not nasty. 'Alcoholic's Love Song' could be about anyone really as no names are mentioned. At the end of the day I wrote it like two or three years ago when I was going through it, and the reason why we're releasing it is because it's one of the best songs from the album - simple as that.

"When I sing it obviously I try and put myself in that emotional place when I sing songs. But songs change their meaning as well after a while and you know, I don't think she's got anything to worry about."
